Director - Platform Operations

Your challenges

• Ability to clearly articulate the importance and expectations regarding support work, results, impact, effort and timelines to the team members, vendors and KPMG management
• Ability to set clear, understandable and ambitious goals that translate the business strategy into action. Encouraging and motivating the team members to achieve targets.
• Experience in managing the process of restoration of IT services in the event of a service disruption, be able to operate in a high pressure business critical 24/7 global operational environment
• Building constructive working relations across the different teams, functions, cultures, genders and demonstrate KPMG behaviors and values
• Coaching and mentoring peers and team members. Facilitating knowledge transfer within the group
• Ensure evolution of the organization by monitoring market developments and providing proposals to leadership on innovation and modern ways of working in the area of operations

This is what you bring

• Extensive experience in managing operational support for a large global organization
• Experience in infrastructure transition to Cloud Services and change management concepts (e.g., planning, progress tracking, estimating and budgeting, resource planning and allocation, issue and risk management, process improvement)
• Infrastructure experience and knowledge including an extensive understanding of Microsoft Azure Services and delivery models, PaaS service, storage concepts, networking basics
• Good understanding of Modern Service Management (Born in the cloud operational concepts) SLA’s and KPI’s, cost of service and Risk and Security
• Management experience leading and mentoring a multi-discipline virtual team in a multi-cultural and multi-vendor environment, working with teams spread across various geographical locations
• Excellent communication skills in English - verbal and written and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization. Confidence in dealing with staff, managers, executives, and business representatives
• Team player who values honesty and transparence, credits others and is willing to share success

Qualifications

• Master degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management or related field or acquired academic level by working experience or relevant industry renowned certifications
• Professional IT Qualifications in related products, Microsoft Azure knowledge 
• Education in Agile / Scrum and DevOps concepts
• Affinity with frameworks, change and organizational sensitivity

The objective is to lead a successful, high performing and agile organization that is the backbone of supporting business critical solutions for our Function (Audit, Tax & Advisory) and Member Firms whilst maintaining ISO and SOC2 certifications. About the Department:

Platform Operations provides support / expertise in One Platform and Service Management to member firms and global functions and for globally managed services. Support at Tier 2 & 3 is available as well as enhanced support options for departments that need them.

Operational Support areas are grouped in four Chapters:

• Cloud Enterprise: Azure services, Core Infrastructure and Security
• Digital Workplace: Identity Management, M365, Messaging, Chat, Voice and Collaboration
• Secure Connectivity: Palo Alto Technologies, WAN, Azure Networking, (inc. Firewalls), Squid Proxies, Infoblox, Layer7 & ISAM
• Service Management: Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, Security Compliance, Service Continuity and ServiceNow delivery
