As a Medior Azure Data Engineer Mortgages for the NN Bank Mortgage Team, you will be part of our journey to further build out our new and sophisticated data warehouse using the latest tools & techniques.

Together with your team you help NN Bank to become a more data driven organization. A great challenge in a continuously changing environment. We have set up a new sophisticated mortgage data warehouse. The next step in our journey is to provide mortgage data in a generic NN Bank format to be used for formal reporting to our supervisors. We will be implementing data-quality and -lineage measures, connect even more data sources and setup a self-service environment for the colleagues of NN Bank mortgages helping us becoming that data driven organization.

You will be part of the DevOps team Mortgage Data Lake working closely together with functional application managers providing the business rules. You will also work together with colleagues in het Data Engineer community in order to create a great learning environment.

Wat je gaat doen

As a Medior Azure Data Engineer Mortgages you will work on the Mortgages data lake, where you will:

Design and implement data ingestion and processing pipelines using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks
You will also develop and maintain data storage and retrieval systems using Azure storage services such as Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL Database
Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing business and validation rules, monitoring and troubleshooting data processing systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance, and ensuring compliance with data security and privacy regulations such as GDPR

You are a passionate data engineer with a strong background in Azure cloud services, and you have the right mindset to always keep learning and improving. You are a real team player with a hands-on attitude and flexibility to deal with changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

You have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 1 year of experience in Azure data engineering
Strong knowledge of Azure cloud platform services and architecture
Experience with SQL, Python, and other programming languages
Experience with data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing
Experience with creating CI/CD pipelines
Experience in banking/mortgage environment is a big plus

You will work as part of the Mortgages data lake team, which is responsible for the development and operations of incoming data streams from several mortgage related. This team also provides the data hub for file uploads to the data factory. The Mortgages date lake is one of the many teams in the Mortgages domain, which is responsible for helping our customers owning their own house. The Mortgages data lake team, which call themselves ‘The Data Plumbers’, make use of the scrum way of working using its rituals to enhance team results and team and individual learning.

The data plumbers are an informal, international mix of men and women with different backgrounds and expertise. The team likes to keep the team spirit alive outside of work with drinks and other occasional events.
