NN Bank is working on launching Payments, filling the last gap in our comprehensive banking services offering. As a domain architect at the Netherlands’ fifth largest bank, your challenge is to take the lead in the implementation phase and guide direction of our payments architecture. Would you like to help millions of customers manage their finances using our brand-new banking functionality in our NN app and help drive exceptional customer experiences?

What are you going to do?

You will continue to develop and re-align the architecture for the Payments domain, which is being built from the ground up. Your work requires a clear vision of our IT landscape and how it supports our clients’ and business’ needs. For this purpose, you will collaborate with the product lead, product developers, marketers and tech leads. You will also work closely with your colleagues in the bank architecture community. Together, you will secure flawless integration and alignment geared to uniform and personalised digital customer experiences. In addition, you will:

Create ambitious and realistic implementation roadmaps for the upcoming periods. Your roadmaps will be geared to meeting our strategic goals, increasing customer engagement
Design secure, resilient and compliant architectures that drive excellent customer experiences across our channels
Provide our DevOps teams with guardrails and guidance on technical and architectural issues, and coach our engineers to help them grow their design, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities. In addition, you will secure a transparent audit trail, documenting solutions and any deviations from the architecture
Stay on top of the latest technological and regulatory trends and developments, and their application in financial services, to anticipate architectural changes and improvements
Engage with internal and external suppliers, ensuring that vendor solutions are aligned with NN Bank’s architecture and business goals

What you will bring

You are challenged by driving the development of UX-driven architectures in complex, highly-regulated environments. Harnessing your communication skills, you know how to convey your vision and inspire and convince colleagues and vendors to deliver the best solution for our clients. Never losing sight of the bigger picture, you are keen to collaborate to achieve our objectives. In addition, you have:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, computer science or another relevant subject
Experience of software development, IT operations and application architectures, preferably in a banking environment, and an in-depth understanding of integration patterns and cloud-native services
Expertise in the analysis and design of complex distributed IT systems, in which reliability, always-on availability and security are key
Experience with ArchiMate modelling
A good command of spoken and written English, as you’ll be working in an international team. Some command of Dutch would stand you in good stead when communication with your Dutch colleagues
